Today Me and Jess had a free so decided to get our script complete by adding all the cue and links that we would need in to it and descriptions of settings to have our radio drama sounding as effective as possible at the final outcome.

(music, people chatting in background, clinging of glasses,)

Belle: You have to meet him babe, he is just amazing
Roxy: Oh I can’t wait, I’m so happy for you!
Belle: I’ll ring him now to come down for a drink if you like
(telephone rings)(ringing noise whilst previous music and chatting and clinging continues)
(Max’s voice sounds like coming through telephone)
Max: Hey babe, you alright?
Belle: Yeah I’m good thanks, I don’t suppose fancy coming for a drink?
Max: Yeah sounds good, where abouts are you?
Belle: We are in walkabout, meet us here in ten.
Max: ok I’ll ring you when I’m there.
(Bar music continues)

Belle: I’ve got to go now babe but text me next week yeah? Max are you staying here?
Roxy: yeah sounds good
Max: yeah I’ll stay have a chat with Roxy then walk her back in a bit
Belle: ok that’s fine. I hope you have a good night
(Bar music continues)

Max: I’ll walk you home now as it’s getting really dark
Roxy: ok thank you, but only if your sure
Max: Yeah of course. I wouldn’t let you walk back alone
(walks back to Belle’s house)
(sounds of walking , sound of traffic sound of other people walking past)

Roxy: Thanks for walking me home, I really appreciate it.
Max: It’s ok. I’ve had such a good night with you
Roxy: Me too, I had better go in now
(Roxy walks away but Max follows) (foot steps fade)
( sounding out of breath, dramatic music)

Roxy: GET OFF ME NOW!
Max: You know you want too
Roxy: AHHHHHHH!! NO IM WITH JOE!
(shouting loudly indicating panic)
(telephone rings, silent in background)

Roxy: Joe! Joe! I need to see you now
Joe: Ok, Roxy calm down, whats happened?
Roxy: Its max…
Joe: Who’s Max?
Roxy: Its Belle’s new boyfriend…he, he…HE RAPED ME!
EPISODE
The girls are at Home and Roxy rings Belle about the previous night.
(telephone rings,Roxy sounds panicky, background noise of quiet TV)
Roxy: BELLE! BELLE! I need to tell you something.
Belle: Roxy’s what’s happened?
Roxy: It’s, It’s (she hesitates) Its nothing, don’t worry.
Belle: Oh come on Rox, you have to tell me now
Roxy: No, its ok, it was just about work next week but nothing important…How is Max?
Belle: Oh he is great. What did you think of him?
Roxy: Yeah he seemed urmm…nice
Belle: What’s wrong? Did he walk you home last night?
Roxy: Yeah, no, erm, yeah he did, I’ve got to go Belle, I’m really busy, Speak later?
Belle: Roxy! Talk to me whats happened?
(Phone hangs up)
(telephone beeps for hang up, telephone rings)
(Roxy sounds upset)
Roxy hangs up and rings Joe to speak to him about what to say to Belle.
Joe: Hey Roxy, you alright?
Roxy: Yeah I’m fine, I’ve just rung Belle and I don’t think I can tell her. I just completely bottled up.
Joe: Don’t worry about it babe, I’m sure she will understand. Just tell her what happened. It will be fine.
Roxy: No Joe, she won’t understand, she will think its my fault.
Joe: You have to tell her Roxy, she’s your best friend.
Roxy: ok, ok, I’ll give you a ring later after I’ve spoken to her.
Joe: Ok babe, I hope it goes ok, and remember I m here for you so don’t worry about it.
Roxy: Thanks Joe.
Roxy is walking to Belle’s when she bumps into Max.
(Street traffic, people walking past)
(Roxy mumbles to herself whilst walking)
(Roxy Says in a quiet muttering voice)
Roxy: Oh God, what shall I say…Hi Belle, just to let you no, your boyfriend raped me…No Roxy that sounds stupid…ermm..Hi Belle, I’m really sorry, no no I cant apologize I haven’t done anything wrong.
Max: Hi Roxy
(Roxy panics)
Roxy: Oh my god Max (pause) I didn’t see you there. Get away from me, I’m on my way to tell Belle about you
Max: If you tell Belle anything, I will hurt you so much you, you will wish you were never born.
Roxy: Why are you doing this to me? What have I done to deserve this?
Max: I just no that you like me Roxy, Don’t deny it..
Roxy: I don’t like you..I hate you! Get away from me!!
Max: I will find you!
Roxy runs off crying, devastated and hurt and goes to see Belle.
(crying noise)
(Knocking noise)
(Roxy knocks on the door)
Roxy: Belle, answer the door I need to talk to you
(Roxy gets agitated)
Belle: I’m coming, I’m coming…(door opens) Whats wrong?
Roxy: I no this is the last thing you want to hear, but Max raped me, I no, I no, it sounds crazy but I’m telling the truth and I couldn’t keep it in any longer. Your my best friend and I thought you needed to know.
Belle: how could you? Your supposed to be my friend and you slept with my boyfriend
Roxy: Belle it’s not like that!
Belle: I don’t believe you! Don’t talk to me, get out, GET OUT!!
Roxy: But belle, you needed to no!
Belle: GET OUT (door slams)
Roxy runs out crying and doesn’t no what to do. She goes home and ends up writing a note about how she feels.
(Roxy reads out the note as she is writing it)
(Mumbling) ( Dramatic background music)
Roxy: I can’t do this anymore! He’s ruining everything. Why does he have to do this to me? I feel so sorry for Belle; she shouldn’t be with that monster. But of course she doesn’t understand. I really need Belle at the moment. She’s MY best friend but she’s not here, no body is. She won’t speak to me; she won’t even look at me. I just can’t take it. It’s killing me. I have no one to turn to but Joe and sometimes I feel like he doesn’t understand. I’m dead inside. There’s no point in being here, I’m not wanted, belle hates me, Joe doesn’t understand and Max makes me feel used. I feel pointless, and it’s all because of him. His name makes me feel sick. Sick to the stomach. He doesn’t even understand how he makes me feel. I can’t sleep at night. Every time I close my eyes his face flashes before me. I’m scared. I just don’t want to be here any longer. I want to go. I am going to leave. It’ll make everything better. I’m a waste of space. I’m sure Joe will understand.
(Rustles of paper, Foot steps, slam of door)
Roxy puts the note in an envelope and walks towards belle’s house.
She knocks on the door to Belle’s house.
(Traffic noise)
Roxy: I no you don’t want to talk to me, and that you hate me, but right now I hate my life, max has ruined it for me and threatened to kill me if I tell you, which now I have. I just wanted to say goodbye. I’m going to leave your life now and I just hope that some other poor girl isn’t max’s next victim…and by that I mean you.
(door opens, footsteps, traffic noise)
Roxy starts to walk away when belle runs out the house.
Belle: You do talk some crap, you do, that’s it, you just walk away. You’re so dramatic. If this is how it’s going to be then go for it. I won’t be here when you’re lonely and have no-one.
Roxy: I’m not lying…you just wait and see.
(Gust of wind, rustles of paper, running footsteps)
As Roxy runs away loads of paper flies out her bag and lands in front off Belle.
(Talking to herself)
Belle: What’s this…Roxy no!
Belle runs after Roxy (running footsteps)
(Talking to herself)
Belle: Where on earth is she? I’ve looked everywhere I’ll give it one more go
Belle finds Roxy on top of a high building
(Traffic,beeps,cars,people chatting,wind)
Belle: Roxy what are you doing I’ve been looking for ages
Roxy: Just leave me alone I’m gunna jump
Belle: Roxyyyyy!! What are you doing? Get down! Your going to fall.
Roxy: maybe I want to fall. You don’t care anyway you said it earlier
Belle: Don’t be ridiculous Rox , you know I love you , you don’t need to do this GET DOWN
Roxy: I have made my mind up, its for the best , your better off without me stay here with HIM you say you love me but you don’t even talk to me, I can’t cope anymore . I want it to be over
Belle (walking towards Roxy): look just come down, we can talk about this
Roxy: stay away from me , if you come up will jump , you know I will
Belle: ok ok just please think about what your doing! Just come down
Roxy: why should I it’ll make everything easier you can get on with your perfect little loved up life with no Roxy to think about ever again. I don’t want to be here.
Belle: Yes you do why are you thinking like this
Roxy: I can think what I like say goodbye to Joe for me
Belle: No Roxy don’t…Noooooooo…
(sirens, long horn sounds, tyres screeching, Belle Screaming, people gasping)
( sudden silence, siren fades out)
